TBCA

Birding is a curious recreation. In truth, we do not fabricate or manufacture that resource that our recreation depends on. One can manufacture artificial snow for skiing. One can establish fish hatcheries and stock game fish where none have existed before (such as rainbow trout in a coastal Texas state park). One can construct hiking trails, biking trails, shooting ranges, basketball courts, and football stadiums.

Birding relies on the generosity of nature to exist. We may protect natural lands to insure that native populations flourish, but, in the end, we are completely dependent on nature to provide the objects of our recreation. Therefore we are committed to insuring that nature is allowed to prosper unimpeded and unhindered. The Texas Bird Conservation Alliance (TBCA) is an initiative that works throughout the state to insure that the remarkable birdlife of Texas is passed on, undamaged and undiminished, to future generations. We at Bird the Bend share this commitment, and work within our region (the Texas Coastal Bend) to do our part in this conservation effort. Please review the list of current bird conservation projects that we and our partners are engaged in within our region.
