Conserve

The Coastal Bend has been blessed with a rich and diverse birdlife, and we know that if we are to sustain our birdlife we first must conserve the habitats that it depends on. We cannot cleave the bird from the tree. This is a sustainable tourism effort, and our commitment to bird conservation is palpable and unwavering.

We are fortunate to have a number of conservation efforts and organizations in the Coastal Bend. In this section you will find a list of these, and we urge you to support their efforts. We also urge you to get involved with these groups and their projects. Just as there is never enough money, there are also never enough hands to do all the work. Trust us; you will be welcomed!

In this section you will also find detailed descriptions of many of these conservation efforts, and the ways in which people in the Coastal Bend are working to restore the most fragile of habitats and species. The coast is a brittle environment, and we are striving to insure that while it may bend at times, it will never break.

Colonies of coastal birds need protection to raise their young, and Audubon volunteers have been standing guard.
