The 40-minute segment includes a 20-minute informal SHOW & TELL with a trainer; followed by 20 minutes of visitor interaction, questions and photo ops. Macaws, parrots, and cockatoos.
Your general admission covers this show; no reservations needed. (‘Parrot Talk’ is held rain or shine—in case of inclement weather, check for alternate sheltered location).
The Botanical Gardens’ 30-plus exotic parrots are rescues—some donated to the facility by the Coastal Bend Companion Bird Club and Rescue Mission, others became orphaned due to size, owner circumstances, or birds outliving owners. Botanical Gardens staff built outdoor thatched huts which can be heated if needed to keep occupants warm.
