Fishing in Corpus Christi  the Coastal Bend is excellent year-round. There are three primary types of fishing available in Corpus Christi:

  • Shallow Water Fishing: Fish along the bats and shores to catch speckled trout, red fish, whiting, drum, and flounder.
  • Deep Water Fishing: Fish off shore from Port Aransas to Rockport – whether in a private boat or on a chartered fishing trip, sport fisherman can fish for amberjack, red snapper, and tuna all year long. From May to September, fish for marlin and bill fish.
  • Fresh Water Fishing: Lake Corpus Christi is located just 40 miles northwest of Corpus Christi in Mathis, and features 200 miles of shore with excellent fishing for bass, catfish, and crappie.
