When to Come

February - September
The luxury of being a local is that they are able to kite year around in Corpus Christi with prime conditions between February and mid September. From March through mid-August, Corpus Christi offers some of the best conditions for kiteboarding as winds become S-SE and vary in strength from 15-25 mph or more. This wind pattern allows for great kiting conditions for all abilities.

September - May
From late September to early May, cold fronts sweep through the Coastal Bend allowing for some great kiting at several spots along the Bay and in the Gulf. Winds range form 20-40mph from the N-NE-NW, with water temperatures from 58 to 75 degrees. Following a cold front, there are usually several days of calm before the prevailing SE wind returns.

Typically the locals check to see if the wind indicators at NAS Corpus Christi and Bob Hall Pier show an average wind speed of 15mph, is so then you are good to go!
