Wednesday night sailboat races are a popular event around the nation. Every Wednesday night at 5:30 pm, sailboats line up near the end of the Lawrence Street T-Head in downtown Corpus Christi, sponsored by the Corpus Christi Midget Ocean Racing Fleet (MORF). The starting line is marked by the MORF dock box and a white stake on the breakwater. Wednesday night races are a fun-filled opportunity for sailors with sailboats of all sizes to participate. Spectators are also encouraged! There are bleachers available near the starting line at the end of the Lawrence Street T-Head. Watch the pre-start action and the impressive starting sequence with the sails of boats ranging from 24 to 50 feet in size dotting the Corpus Christi Bay. Corpus Christi’s MORF provides trophies and prizes for the winners, along with community bragging rights!
