This park is home to The PFC Pablo Demeo Sanchez South Texas Veterans Memorial. The swath of land in the median of Shoreline Boulevard was dedicated to Warren Joseph Sherrill in 1952. In 1952 it formed a ‘front lawn’ for the new City Hall. Now it’s the front lawn for the Art Center of Corpus Christi. Sherrill was Corpus Christi’s first casualty in World War II, killed aboard the USS Arizona at Pearl Harbor.
