Bay Education Center
The home of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Science on a Sphere (NOAA SOS). The SOS is a spherical display system, or as we like to call it: a giant, animated globe, which runs pre-programmed shows and live feedback data from planet earth to educate folks on matters of Earth Science and environmental understanding. Presentations happen every Tuesday through Saturday at 2 p.m. The education center also is the de facto visitor center for the ecologically sensitive Mission-Aransas Reserve, offering folks the chance to explore and learn about estuaries and the life they support. Free and open to the public.
