When to Come

Winter

According to the locals, Corpus Christi has some of the best surf during the winter as long as you have a wetsuit. Once the water temperature drops below 70-75 degrees you may want to consider a wetsuit, which you can rent or purchase locally. The waves during the winter are usually waist to head high, and often more than head high.

Spring

The water temperature is warming up; the on shore winds are working in your favor. A spring suit may still be needed until water temps get up over 80 degrees. As with any day in Texas, the surf may be rocking in the morning and choppy in the afternoon, so it is important to check the current conditions.

Summer - Fall

From June to November, the surf is often dependant on the tropical activity in the Gulf of Mexico. Good strong on shore winds can produce a nice swell. With prevailing high pressure surf is less predictable during this time of year. With the right conditions you can really experience an amazing day in the surf this time of year.
