Check out the not-to-be-missed live music dates coming to Corpus Christi in February 2019.
Genre – Americana and Alt-Country
Ward Davis is easily one of the hardest working musicians in country music with over 250 shows per year under his belt as both a headliner and supporting act. He has a vocal-centric aesthetic with subtle use of the harmonica and acoustic rhythm guitars. His catalog contains hits he’s written for some of country music’s biggest stars. He takes the stage with Special Guest, Pake Rossi. Tickets can be picked up at Brewster Street Ice House. 1724 N. Tancahua
The Bottle Rockets
Genre – Midwest American Roots Rock
If you enjoy music with strong social commentary, The Bottle Rockets perform at House of Rock on February 2. The acoustic group has been at the roots of country music since 1992. The vocal harmonies and folk influences are at the heart of the group’s sound. Since they were considered the corporate mainstream rather than the alternative, they may be the last of traditional rock artists who have built a legacy of work. 511 Starr St.
2019 Corpus Christi Songwriters Festival
at The Churchyard, Aloft Corpus Christi, Texas Surf Museum, The Goldfish, The Exchange, Executive Surf Club

Face to Face
Genre – Punk Rock
Face to Face is a punk-rock, fast-paced blast that trods familiar anti-authority punk ground. With heavy rock instrumentation and electric rhythm guitars, the gravelly male vocalist has some hard rock roots and punk influences. The melodic phrasing and intense vamping will help shake off Valentine’s Day commercialism on February 15th.
Genre – Surf Rock
Donavon Frankenreiter could be compared to the likes of Jack Johnson. An acoustic, surf-rock singer focused on melodic songwriting, makes his return to Corpus Christi. He’s described his music as ‘seriously sentimental.’ At age 46, he was booked for most of 2018 and doesn’t seem letting up on his live performances anytime soon. It’s worth noting that Frankenreiter was a playable character in the Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer video game. Catch his live set in the perfect setting – Executive Surf Club. 309 N. Water St.
Los Tigres del Norte
Genre – Norteño
A staple on the norteño music scene, Los Tigres del Norte have been captivating audiences for decades. Using the music standard of the genre, with two accordions, six-string acoustic bajo sexton, electric bass and drums, their songs delve into the lives of people that negotiate the frontera of the United States. Whether it’s the intimate portrait of scattered families across Mexico and the US or the proud grower of illegal substances, Los Tigres de Norte presents their compelling and beautiful music that will make you dance all night long. Old Concrete Street Amphitheater hosts this amazing night. 800 Concrete St.
at House of Rock
Genre – Reggae Rock, Ska, Surf Rock
The Expendables is a diverse mix of styles, including reggae, surf rock, and punk rock. The band has toured with Slightly Stoopid, a group that they not only sound like but who also signed them. More impressive, they have funded their own headlining tours across the country. They are back at House of Rock on February 24.
