Summer days are for fun in the sun, but summer nights are a time to kick back and relax. Once a month, Corpus Christi Ride-In Theater gives visitors the opportunity to enjoy a movie in one of the most scenic parks in the Coastal Bend. Bring a lawn chair, a blanket or even an air mattress to the Corpus Christi Watergardens for a free movie screening under the stars! Don't worry about picking up dinner and drinks before-hand, Ride-In Theater has you covered with local food trucks and a full bar on-site.
Summer is the season of free fun and Corpus Christi is no exception. Every week, from June to August, the Bay Jammin' Concert and Cinema Series offers a Thursday night concert and a Friday night movie, for free! While you're in town, make plans to attend at least one of these awesome evening events at Cole Park and get to know Corpus Christi locals while you relax on the great lawn.
Spoiler alert - food trucks are awesome! If you're looking to experience the culinary specialties of South Texas, look no further than A La Mano, hosted by the Corpus Christi Visitor Information Center. With nine local food trucks, each specializing in a different cuisine, A La Mano is your chance to taste a little bit of everything all in one place. Throw in some live music, lawn games and a prime location on the Corpus Christi Downtown Seawall, and summer time comes alive at this monthly event. Plan your visit around the last Friday of the month and don't miss Corpus Christi's version of Food Truck Friday.
Nothing demonstrates the beauty of mother nature more than watching dozens of baby sea turtles enter the surf of the Gulf of Mexico. The Padre Island National Seashore is home to approximately 60% of the Kemp's ridley nests found in the United States, with most hatchling releases taking place between May and August. The release dates vary as nesting dates are unpredictable, but if you're visiting Corpus Christi in the summer months, the chances are high that you'll be able to attend one of nature's coolest, uniquely Corpus Christi experiences. Get the latest information on releases, locations and times by calling (361) 949-7163.
Baseball is arguably the number one national pastime and while the season may run well into fall, summer is prime time for a day at the ball park.
