Funny thing about this kids-vs.-adults cult movie classic from 1985 (shot entirely in a golden mid-1980s Corpus Christi, Texas) is that it still makes the rounds in the revival theaters. (We’re looking at you, Alamo Drafthouse!)

This teen flick starring Helen and Christian Slater (no relation, but playing brother and sister roles) lays it on thick, with spot-on fashion, music and best of all: the mall! The current interior of Sunrise Mall, where the big climactic escalator chase scene is shot, still looks like it did when crop tops, cut offs and hi-top sneakers roamed the Earth.
