2. Selena Museum

The Selena Museum

Selena Quintanilla, the Queen of Tejano Music, is a music icon. She brought the Latino community together with her music and inspired people across the globe with her energy and talent. The Selena Museum was built by the Quintanilla family as a memorial for Selena fans. The museum showcases many of her stage costumes, collections and memorabilia.

3. Art Museum of South Texas

Art Museum of South Texas

Completed in 1972, this museum serves as the cultural center for fine art in Corpus Christi. Consisting of three levels, approximately 12,000 of the building's 30,000 square feet belong to galleries. Constructed entirely out of white concrete and plaster, the museum radiates with the strong South Texas heat and light. This was the purpose, as stated by the architect, Philip Johnson: "Light is the essence, and light coming in from all sides is especially bathing and soothing." The floor-to-ceiling windows offer a spectacular view of Corpus Christi Bay as well as the Harbor Bridge.

4. Corpus Christi Museum of Science & History

Leave the classroom behind and immerse yourself in hands-on experiences and exploration at the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History! The museum’s 40,000 square feet of exhibits are a collection of carefully selected representations unique to the region’s culture and surroundings. The historical collections showcase 500 years of South Texas history. From historic shipwrecks of early explorers to a DNA-model indoor playground, these exhibits give you an up close look at the life and the people of Corpus Christi.

5. USS Lexington Museum on the Bay

The USS Lexington, CV-16, is a World War II vintage aircraft carrier. Commissioned in 1943, she served the United States longer and set more records than any other carrier in the history of naval aviation. The USS Lexington arrived at Corpus Christi beach in 1992 as a result of active fundraising and strong community support, and has since served as a naval aviation museum, educational facility and popular tourist attraction.
