Bay Paddling

Bay Paddling is a less intense form of kayaking than the adventurous Salt Water Kayaking, however more strenuous than Fresh Water Kayaking. Many kayakers can be seen dotting the Corpus Christi Bay year round where they find their paddling adventures to be more tranquil than the open waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Bay paddling through the Corpus Christi Bay is less intense because the bay has no rip tides and the current is virtually non-existent. Although, a kayaker will still have to deal with waves, they aren’t nearly as powerful as those experienced while Salt Water Kayaking. This type of kayaking can often be physical and relaxing in the same trip. Of course, the weather seriously affects the paddling trip and kayakers should always check the weather forecast before venturing out.
