Open-air and right on the water, Snoopy's Pier is a great place to come wile away an afternoon while awaiting nature’s sunset lightshow. Owner Ernie Butler was a commercial fishermen in the Seventies and Eighties who, according to the restaurant’s website, “decided to give up trying to catch fish and shrimp and start cooking them instead.” He and his wife Corliss purchased the 600-foot fishing pier in the summer of 1980. Since then, the complex has grown into one of the area’s most endearing restaurants. There’s an onsite fish house and shrimp breading facility to ensure the freshest quality. It’s all cash and counter service, but once you pick up that steaming plate of fresh catch or fried shrimp and a cold bottle of brew, the experience is class-A all the way. Don’t miss the companion dessert veranda, Scoopy’s next door!
