Horses on the Beach
If there is any place in the Coastal Bend that honors the legacy of the wild equine that used to run and play in the surf, it's Horses on the Beach. Did you know that's how Mustang Island got its name? Wild horses ran free as recently as the 1800s. Neighbor island, Padre Island is the home of this family-run, reservations-only attraction that affords visitors that ultimate way to see the coastline, atop a gorgeous happy healthy steed. We challenge you to find a beach experience that is so quintessentially Texan! The stables are located just south of Bob Hall Pier/Padre Balli Park, just off Park Rd 22. Morning, afternoon and the ever-popular sunset rides can be reserved seven-days-a-week by just picking up the phone.
