Located on the small peninsula that juts out to the northeast from Rockport Harbor, reaching almost to Nine-Mile Point on tony Key Allegro, Rockport Beach is one solid mile of attractive recreational bayfront. The beach was the first in Texas distinguished as a "Blue Wave Beach," meeting environmental standards set by the national Clean Beaches Coalition. Facilities include a bandshell and four pavilions, public restrooms, and numerous picnic sites. It's open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., Sunday through Thursday and 6 a.m. to 12 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. There is a $5 daily admission per vehicle (foot and bike travelers enter for free), or a $20 annual tag.
