Crazy Picasso

Atmosphere: This posh, colorful Southside establishment is located across the street from Alamo Drafthouse Corpus Christi. The spacious accommodations, fit with chandeliers, glass table tops, large windows and adorned with wall art, include two party rooms and seating for 100.

Paintings selection/Top-selling paintings: 400 works of art. A masterpiece of Selena, the Queen of Tejano, and Couple’s “Starry Night.” 

Weekend fun: Free margaritas on Fridays, rum runners on Saturdays and mimosas on Sundays for 21 and up.

Picture time! Choose from props (hats, glasses and boas) in a huge photo booth. Your group may take four photos to post directly to Facebook at no charge during public classes and private adult parties on the weekends. Crazy Picasso also offers a Smile ‘n Snap selfie station, where you can directly post to your social media accounts or print for an additional fee.

Tipsy Canvas

Atmosphere: Be yourself at this casual venue with space for 60. A smaller class means the opportunity to work more closely with your instructor, who acts as a long-time friend teaching you how to paint.

Date night: Impress your date! Tipsy Canvas encourages couples to have a great time and let go. Every month, couples classes are offered where lovebirds can each paint one half of the picture.

Discounts: Be sure to inquire about the partnership between Tipsy Canvas and HardKnock’s Sports Lounge Bar & Grill offering a discount on a painting class or a free drink or appetizer. There is also a Groupon available for wine glass painting only.

Kids’ Summer Camps: Kids can start their morning painting. After a snack break and games, children get to spend the second half of their day painting objects such as picture frames, bird houses, pet rocks, and creating their own puzzles and much more!

The Vintage Easel Spirits & Art

About Us: Owned by a 5th generation Corpus Christi resident, the Vintage Easel wants to help patrons discover a hidden talent and create opportunities to meet new friends.

Painting selections/Top-selling paintings: 500 works of art. Calavera, Day of the Dead and Jack Skellington (The Nightmare Before Christmas).

Affordable art: Classes range from $12.50-$17.50. The goal is to share the love of art with as many people as possible at a reasonable price. Mimosa Mornings are held one Saturday a month. The cost for the class is $12.50. Participants can bring champagne, and the Vintage Easel will provide the orange juice. BYOB classes, which are $17.50, are held Fridays at 7 p.m.

Bling Gurlz Nite Out: This popular class ends with participants adding rhinestones to their masterpieces.

“Paint Your Own” Class: One Thursday a month, choose your own painting from the gallery; or bring something from home for instructors to guide you through “stroke by stroke.” Class sizes, normally set at 34, are reduced to maximize individualized attention.

About Us: This local, 100 percent veteran-owned business in Moore Plaza is part of a national franchise started by two women in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.

Huge library: Due to corporate support, 8,000 copy written paintings are offered. Artists may also create something new and submit the artwork to have it added to the library.

Customer satisfaction: Customers’ happiness is top priority. The staff works to ensure that everyone leaves with a painting they’re proud of and that they had a blast creating it.

Painting with a Purpose: Once a month, Painting with a Twist gives back to the local community with half of the proceeds raised given to a charity.

Bond with Your Teen: Ages 16 and up may attend an adult class only if accompanied by a parent; but not during weekend evening classes.
