Texas State Aquarium

SeeCC Texas State Aquarium

The Texas State Aquarium will turn your Corpus Christi summer adventure into an aquatic journey while you explore the depths of the Gulf of Mexico. You can experience dive shows, animal feedings, and hands-on interactions with sharks and stingrays in addition to educational presentations featuring dolphins, birds, otters and more! Explore a wetland habitat exhibit, or spend some time in the Living Shores exhibit to get up close and personal with starfish and urchins! Take an adventure through the jungles, coastal lagoons, caves and coral reefs to enjoy interactions with flamingos, crocodiles, birds, sharks and other exotic species.

Hours: Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

USS Lexington Museum on the Bay


Just a short walk from the Texas State Aquarium sits the USS Lexington, Corpus Christi’s one-of-a-kind vintage WWII aircraft carrier. Hop aboard for a special tour detailing its 48-year U.S. Navy history from 1943 to 1991, longer than any other carrier in the history of naval aviation! Check out the Beat the Blast Escape Room - the world's only escape room on an aircraft carrier.

Hours: Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

South Texas Botanical Gardens


At the South Texas Botanical Gardens, you’ll enjoy 182 acres of uniquely-designed floral exhibits. Peruse the 11 exhibits ranging from a screened Butterfly House, an Orchid Conservatory, the Anderson Bromeliad Conservatory, a seasonal Plumeria Garden, a Rose Garden and more! The Botanical Gardens are located in Corpus Christi’s south side, conveniently near a lot of fun restaurants and bars.

Waves Resort featuring Schlitterbahn Waterpark


Waves Resort featuring Schlitterbahn Waterpark is one of Corpus Christi’s ultimate water park destination, perfect for families or large groups looking for a fun summer adventure. In addition to a variety of slides, rides and wave pools, you can even float down a lazy river that surrounds the entire park. The options are truly endless! For those over 21, there’s a full-service swim-up bar to enjoy a cool beverage on a hot summer day, along with private cabanas, beaches and more! If you get hungry, Waves Resort featuring Schlitterbahn Waterpark has a delicious restaurant. Too hot? Cool off indoors at the Fun Floor, featuring billiards, movies and an arcade.  

During summer hours, the park is open 7 days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Art Museum of South Texas

The Art Museum of South Texas, sponsored by Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, is a brilliant space offering a variety of educational artwork, films, lectures and performances. In its permanent collection, you can find over 1,850 pieces of artwork dating all the way back to the 1940s. Learn about South Texas’ rich art history from galleries full of unique paintings, photographs, ceramics, sculptures, crafts and more.


Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
