Holiday Drinks to Make You Feel Warm & Cozy

by Visit Corpus Christi Texas

‘Tis the season to be… tipsy! One of the best ways to celebrate the holiday season is by drinking some spirits that is! From specialty creations to seasonal favorites, the bars in Corpus Christi have holiday options for everyone to enjoy all winter long.

We don’t know about you, but in the winter time, we’re craving “spiciness” in our drinks like ginger beer, peppermint, or caramel. Here’s where to find some of our favorite winter cocktails:

The Post at Lamar Park, Central Corpus Christi

This trendy, down-to-Earth atmosphere is the perfect place to grab some cocktails! Try one of their signature cocktails, the Peach Derby, made with Old Forester bourbon, lemon, honey, ginger beer and peach bitters. You’ll be feeling warm and cozy in no time.

Bar Under the Sun (BUS), Bayfront/Downtown

bus cocktails

When you want to watch a big game, BUS is the place to be! The best part? You can bring your fluffy friends as this is one of Corpus Christi’s pet-friendly bars! When the weather drops, we recommend trying the Vieja Navidad, made with Añejo tequila, maple syrup, molé bitters, fernet, and a cinnamon stock to keep you warm.

Costa Sur Wok & Ceviche Bar, Padre Island

If you’re looking for a more casual atmosphere, head over to Costa Sur Wok & Ceviche Bar for Peruvian tastes with a twist. You might have had Peruvian coffee, but you haven’t had it like this. Their specialty is the Spiked Peruvian Coffee made with Baileys and Pisco, but they also have others like Mexican Coffee (Kahlua, Tequila), Bavarian Coffee (Kahlua, Peppermint Schnapps), and Spanish Coffee (Tia Maria, Rum).

If you’re looking for the warm and cheerful feeling wine gives you, try out these clubs and bistros to have you feeling like you’re in wine country:

Black Sheep Bistro, Padre Island

When you’re visiting Padre Island, Black Sheep Bistro is a must-visit this time of year! With seasonal wines (try Graham’s Six Grape Port!) and desserts, this warm and fuzzy atmosphere will have you leaving in a better mood.

Vino Mio Social Club, Central

If you imagine a relaxing night with wine, sitting on the couch and having your drinks brought right to you, head to Vino Mio Social Club. You’ll feel right at home without the need to pour your own glass. They have a selection of almost 50 wines, and you can’t go wrong with any of them!

Seasonal Beer

Move over pumpkin beer, it’s holiday spices turn to shine!

Lorelei Brewing Company, Southside

When you’re looking for somewhere to drink but want to bring the little ones (and pets) along, Lorelei Brewing Company in the Southside should be your go-to. With beer brewed onsite, it’s hard to choose a drink, but we recommend the Belgian Honeypot, a strong golden ale brewed with sweet, sweet honey. Yum.

House of Rock, Bayfront/Downtown

What’s better than a bar with live music? A bar with live music, an incredible happy hour and daily blackboard specials! Right now, you can grab the Shiner Holiday Cheer by Spoetzl Brewery in Shiner, Texas. This German Dunkelweizen is brewed with Texas peaches and roasted pecans that are sure to leave you feeling good after a few sips.

While these aren’t all of the festive holiday drink options in the Coastal Bend, this list is a great start to help you find your seasonal favorite! Be sure to check the current listings as seasonal drinks launch at different times at each respective location! You can also visit your favorite Corpus Christi bar during the winter to sample their seasonal drink menu. Let the fun beGIN!
