Padre Island National Seashore

Visit the vast beaches, pristine sand dunes and coastal prairies on the longest stretch of undeveloped barrier island in the world. From April to mid-July, Padre Island is one of the few places in the world people can experience a release of newly-hatched Kemp’s ridley sea turtles. The Padre Island National Seashore is one of the few places where one can still feel truly in touch with nature whether watching the hatchlings begin their journey into the Gulf or simply enjoying the quiet and solitude under a starlight-filled sky.
