Visit the Center for Wildlife Rescue at the Texas State Aquarium 

Get a behind-the-scenes look at the treatment and rehabilitation of marine mammals, raptors, shorebirds, and sea turtles at the largest coastal wildlife rescue facility in Texas. This new state-of-the-art hospital offers services ranging from providing a safe, temporary refuge to acute medical care, and includes an interpretive gallery, an emergency operations center, and the only CAT scan used specifically for wildlife in Texas. Access to the rescue center is included in your General Admission ticket, so make sure to stop by between the hours of 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM and see the rescue center while learning about conservation and sustainability efforts. 

 

Grab a paddle and hit the courts for some pickleball action

Experience the thrill of pickleball where adrenaline meets the combination of tennis, badminton, and ping pong. Whether you prefer the outdoor breeze or indoor action, this rapidly growing sport is a great fast-paced activity for players of all levels. The Al Kruse Tennis and Pickleball Center invites players to grab their paddles and join the excitement with 10 dedicated outdoor pickleball courts. Visitors can enjoy open play, lessons for beginner and intermediate players, or even join tournaments. The Corpus Christi Athletic Club offers intro clinics that delve into technique, drilling, and match play strategy, or you can just head over for open play on Friday evenings where players of all levers gather for matches on the indoor courts. This is free for members or $25 + tax for non-members.
