The Silent Disco is one of the hottest new additions to Fiesta de la Flor
Silent Disco: You’ve maybe heard of it, but what exactly is it?
The Silent Disco at the 2016 Fiesta de la Flor presented by CITGO was one of the greatest things to happen at the festival and trust us when we say it’s a must-do when attending Fiesta de la Flor in 2017!
Re-live the 2016 Fiesta de la Flor Silent Disco here...
1. Way cool wireless headphones
There are hundreds of wireless headphones for all Silent Disco goers, which makes Silent Disco so epic! Every person wearing the headphones will be immersed in simultaneous music throughout the time in the Silent Disco. Did we mention the headphones glow in the dark?
2. El Dusty
Get your Bidi Bidi Bom Bom on to all of your favorite Selena songs spun by the Cumbia-electronica pioneer and Corpus Christi native El Dusty, recently titled one of Rolling Stone's Top 10 Artists You Need To Know and Billboard's 5 New Latin Acts To Watch in 2016. Check out everything you'd want to know about El Dusty and DJ AudEo.
3. The Location
The Silent Disco takes place in Art Museum of South Texas during Fiesta de la Flor, a perfect spot to dance away. Right next door is the beautifully displayed Selena fan art for all festival goers to see. Make sure to grab a sandwich at Hester’s Cafe before to get your energy going!
4. The Crowd
Imagine being able to sing along to your favorite Selena songs at the top of your lungs with hundreds of other fans. You may not hear them singing next you, but you know they’re singing just as loud and proud. Have no shame in others hearing your possibly terrible singing voice because the only thing everyone hears is the swoon-worthy lyrics of the Tejano music queen Selena.
Take yourself out of the moment just for a second and put down the head phones. You will hear a magical, unified chorus of Selena songs sang passionately by all fans in the Silent Disco. It can’t get any better than that.
5. Anything for Selenas!
Selena’s spirit lives through her music. It’s almost impossible not to dance when hearing Selena’s music! In fact, the Silent Disco should be called the Silent Cumbia!
