A Christmas Carol at Harbor Playhouse

Enjoy a night at the theatre with this timeless classic at Harbor Playhouse! A Christmas Carol the Musical tells the tale of Ebenezer Scrooge as he goes through a series of strange events after being warned by his former business partner to change his ways. This brilliant musical follows Scrooge on Christmas Eve, as he is visited by the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future, which leads him to ultimately discover the true spirit of Christmas. A Christmas Story the Musical at Aurora Arts Theatre

Set in the 1940s in the fictional town of Hohman, Indiana, the musical follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker and his quest for the Holy Grail of Christmas gifts—an Official Red Ryder carbine-action 200-shot Range Model air rifle. Rebuffed at every turn with a similar echoing response, Ralphie plots numerous schemes to achieve his desperate desire for the coveted BB gun. All the iconic scenes from the movie are here: Ralphie's friend, Flick, getting his tongue stuck to the flagpole; his brother, Randy, getting dressed in his snowsuit; the bullies, Farkus and Dill; the leg lamp award; the bunny suit; the Chinese restaurant; Christmas dinner; and many others. The 35th Annual Harbor Lights Festival on Saturday, December 7, 2019, is Corpus Christi's unique celebration to light up the holiday season in the Downtown Bayfront! Enjoy Corpus Christi Tours has some non-traditional activities that are sure to get you in the holiday spirit and this is one of them! On December 7, 14 and 21, enjoy some nice warm wassail as you explore five historical cemeteries in Corpus Christi. What in the world is wassail you may ask? Fun fact: wassail is an activity and a beverage that originated in England many moons ago. Traditionally, villagers would gather around their apple trees on the 12th day of Christmas while singing and toasting with wassail to the good health of the apple trees. Experience the Harbor Bridge like never before! Take it head on by walking (or running) over the bridge alongside hundreds of other people. Get that fitness kick started in style and catch the mesmerizing view of the city while you're up there. The walk begins and ends at Heritage Park. Don't forget to stay afterwards and jump into Zumba, Yoga and/or Tai Chi. Get your fitness on at Bridgewalk!
